How to Prep Your Work Week
A simple Friday ritual to set up the week ahead
Just like a productive day starts the night before, a productive week starts before Monday morning.
Here’s the habit: every Friday afternoon, run a quick weekly review. This closes out the current week and frees you to actually enjoy your weekend.
During your review, check:
Your calendar:
Do you really need to be at every meeting?
Is the meeting length reasonable?
Leave short buffers between back-to-back meetings.
Your to-do list:
No more than 3 important tasks per day.
Match your task load to the free time you actually have between meetings.
Tackle the highest-impact tasks first—the ones that move your goals forward.
Pro tip: Keep Thursdays and Fridays lighter.
Early in the week, tasks tend to spill over. A lighter end of the week gives you room to catch up without feeling squeezed.
Make this a weekly Friday ritual. It takes less than 15 minutes, but ensures you’ll hit Monday knowing exactly what matters most.
