You’ve built the habit: each day, you focus on your top 3 priorities (your “big rocks”)—and sprinkle in a few smaller, less urgent tasks (“the sand”) in between. That’s smart.
But over the week, those low-priority items start to pile up. And while it’s good that you’re prioritizing what matters most, you don’t want your to-do list to become a dumping ground.
Here’s the fix:
Block a specific time each week to batch and knock out all those lingering low-priority tasks.
Pick a time when your energy naturally dips—Friday afternoon is perfect. Then move through them quickly, one after another.
Not only will you clean up your backlog, but you’ll also end the week with a satisfying sense of progress.
Action step:
Choose your low-energy time slot, reserve it, and use it weekly to sweep through the small stuff. Your future self will thank you—and your to-do list will breathe a little easier.
